Joint events are organised with the Jewish Academy of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, such as the series of study days “1700 Jahre Jüdisches Leben in Deutschland – 117 Jahre Jüdische Filmgeschichte” and film seminars.
INSTITUTE FOR JEWISH AND RELIGIOUS STUDIES, UNIVERSITY OF POTSDAM
A teaching partnership in the field of Jewish film is being established with the Institute for Jewish and Religious Studies at the University of Potsdam. The interdisciplinary BA seminar “Jewish Film – Outline of a History” took place in the winter semester of 2020/2021 and the interdisciplinary MA seminar “Audiovisual Recollection Of The Shoah. From Compilation Films To TikTok Challenges” in the 2021 summer semester.
JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL BERLIN BRANDENBURG
The research group is working with the JFBB on workshops that are offered during the festival and further joint event formats for transfer projects are also being developed.
SELMA STERN CENTER FOR JEWISH STUDIES BERLIN-BRANDENBURG
Members of the junior research group are part of the working group “Film and Media” at the Selma Stern Center that meets while the university is in session. Jointly organised events such as the Blankensee Colloquium (Jan 2020) and the Doctorate Colloquium “Jewish Film” (2022) are also held.
VISION KINO – FILM MACHT MUT
The project “Film Macht Mut” focuses on the critique of racism and anti-Semitism in film education. In cooperation with Vision Kino, the research project “What is Jewish Film” is developing an advanced training program for teachers on the topic of “Anti-Semitism in Film”.
“Film Macht Mut” is a project of Vision Kino in cooperation with SchulKinoWochen and is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
